When videogames were created, nobody could imagine it would end up in such a beautiful way.
The PS3 is the most powerful console in the market. It’s capabilities are amazing, like rendering astonishing visuals in games like Heavy Rain, and being able to process online matches with 256 players playing simultaneously in the upcoming PS3 exclusive MAG (Massive Action Game), just to name a few. But, to be honest, the only problem with it is it’s price. With a 399 dollars price tag, and 499 for the premium bundle, many people may think it’s not worth the money. But, considering Sony loses 40 bucks for each PS3 sold, you may change your mind. After all, it’s gotta cost 440 dollars to build for a reason.
This baby features a monster processor called Cell, made up of 7 cores. 7! That’s why it is being used so often to build supercomputers, and to calculate weird physics stuff by scientists. Besides, the Playstation 3 has a Blu-ray disc drive, used for CD’s, DVD’s, other optical media, and of course, Blu-ray discs. This discs are capable of storing 50 gigabytes, compared to the DVD’s 8. Obviously, more space means bigger games, or if multiplatform, they can get additional content and better graphics, which are handled by the NVIDIA Reality Synthesizer.
And that’s just the guts. The PS3 has anything you will need to transfer stuff from your PC or PSP to your Playstation 3. That includes Bluetooth 2.0 and 2 USB 2.o slots. Plus it includes Wi-Fi and gigabit Ethernet. Oh, so that’s why some were taken away from prisoners in the UK, because they could “use it’s online capabilities to communicate with the exterior and plan escapes”. You can use it’s Internet browser for free, to surf the web or download add-ons, games, etc from the Playstation Store,though we’ve got to admit that the Xbox 360 is recognized as having a better online store and online play-but you have to pay around 50 bucks a year for it. Plus, it has HDMI 1.3, so you can connect it to your High Definition TV, giving you the best image among all consoles. Playing in Complete HD 1080 p is as good as it gets.
Well, let’s stop talking about technical crap. Let’s talk about playing. The Dualshock 3 controller remains faithful to the classic Playstation controller, but it also includes SixAxis motion sensing technology, so you can control vehicles or sniper rifles just by moving your hand. And you can connect 7 at a time to your PS3, so 7 people can play simultaneously-generally a sports game like Pro Evolution Soccer.
With tons of cool accesories, like the Eye Toy and the upcoming wand-like motion sensing controller, great media capabilities like photo and video galleries and music players, and very promising exclusive games on the way, the Playstation 3 is a must buy for every hardcore gamer.
